We will be holding a meeting for all volunteers (including any new potential volunteers) to kick start the 2026 season in the United Free Church Hall (Craigdhu Road) on Thursday 26th February 2026 from 2-4pm. This is an opportunity to meet other volunteers who perhaps work in other areas from you AND for new volunteers to get to know more about MiB. Tea and biscuits will be served ahead of the team leaders leading a discussion on the plans for the year ahead.

Spring Clean Scotland Activities
Keep Scotland Beautiful's annual litter picking event takes place between 13 March and 24 April. MiB will be taking part by devoting one of our scheduled Clean Sweep Saturdays to it, namely 18th April. Again, we'd like as big a turnout as possible so please note the date and let's give Milngavie a really good spring clean.

Please do not hesitate to contact our volunteer convenor Douglas, our gardening convenor Ina, or our clean sweep convenor Sheena for further information on any of the above activities.

Where do volunteers meet?
Volunteers for gardening and litterpicking meet outside The Fraser Centre at 10am to collect equipment and to be paired with other team members.

The West Highland Way team meet at 10am at the Allander Road fork on the West Highland Way path where we are joined by members of the Bearsden & Milngavie Ramblers Club. Bring your mug for a cuppa.

Health & Safety Guidance
To prevent accidents while you are volunteering, please read our Health & Safety guidance before you participate in any of our activities - this is not only for your own safety, but also for the safety of those you will be working alongside.

We would remind all volunteers to wear appropriate clothing particularly in wet weather, sturdy footwear (boots or wellies advised) and gloves at all times. You can use your own gardening/litter picking tools if you have them, but if not we have a supply in the tool shed.

If you use the tool shed you will find wipes and hand sanitiser available. Any tools should be wiped before and after use. Please ensure that you turn off the light and change the padlock code.
