What's On ?
Milngavie in Bloom and the Covid 19 (Coronavirus) pandemic
This notice is to provide information about the changes that the committee of Milngavie in Bloom are asking our volunteers to make as a result of the advice issued by the relevant bodies and organisations.
We will, of course, take notice of and act on the restrictions imposed by the UK and Scottish governments. This means that we will not be holding any face to face meetings or working in more than pairs until the restrictions are changed.
Several events in which Milngavie in Bloom was due to take part have been cancelled or postponed, these include hosting the Beautiful Scotland judges’ training day, our entry into Britain in Bloom, our plant stall during Milngavie Week and a planned "Before and after" exhibition. A decision on our coffee morning will be taken at a later date.
All our planned work sessions on Wednesdays or Saturdays for Gardening or Clean Sweep have been cancelled until further notice.
Gardening will be restricted to maintenance of existing beds and containers and can be carried out as volunteers’ form of exercise, maintaining social distancing, by those who feel able to do so. Clean Sweep will operate on a similar basis.
No volunteer should feel under any obligation to carry out any work. The amount of gardening to be carried out will be reduced and we hope that the amount of litter will also be reduced.
If you wish to donate any plants please leave them at the shed and inform a committee member.
The shed will be out of bounds. Volunteers are asked to bring their own tools and bags for gardening or litter picking.
The committee would like to thank all our volunteers and hope that they stay safe during this time. Please don’t hesitate to contact any committee member if there is anything that you wish to discuss. (Evelyn 956 3734 or Heather 956 1317)
Future notices will be issued to our volunteers, as appropriate.
